Daniel Levy and Andre Villas-Boas are planning a major transfer coup this summer by moving for Brazilian sensation Neymar.
The Santos star is one of the most highly sought talents in world football, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly interested in securing his signature, but Spurs have now entered the fray as they feel the potential lure of Champions League football and their never-ending 'upward spiral' would be a temptation not even Neymar could resist.
Privately the 21-year old is said to be interested in the move, but only if Gareth Bale leaves White Hart Lane this summer. Bale is widely considered by many pundits as the best player in the world on current form, and Neymar does not want his progress stalled by not being able to break into the Spurs side.
Should Bale be sold then the money gained is likely to go straight towards a deal for Neymar, but, even should the Welshman stay, Villas-Boas wants the deal done. A fee of £60,000,000 has been mooted, a price Levy is more than willing to spend as he looks to cement his club's position as London's top side.
Should any deal for Neymar not go through, Levy is expected to use the available funds to push through a deal for the Ghanian prospect Somé Historé, the 19-year old has scored 51 goals in just 52 appearances since the turn of the year.
