Changes For Gunners Ahead Of Bayern Rematch

Early reports on Arsene Wenger's selection for Wednesday night's Champions League last-16 second leg at the Allianz Arena have surfaced through the Twittersphere and it makes for mixed reading for some of Arsenal's younger talents.

The already talismanic Jack Wilshere is OUT with a 'slight ankle problem', although any mention of an injury for the Englishman is enough to send a shiver down the spines of Gunners fans after the 18 month lay-off he endured before his return in October.

Whilst Arsenal are blessed with options in midfield and can call upon the experience and class of Tomas Rosicky in Wilshere's place, it would be fair to suggest the goalkeeping department is not one in which Wenger finds himself swimming in options. Nonetheless it has been mooted that Wojciech Szczesny has been DROPPED.

Szczesny has been wildly inconsistent in his performances this season and Wenger is looking to replace him in the summer, but in Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone the alternatives aren't particularly endearing. Fabianski has hardly played since injury curtailed his impressive run in the side during the 2010/11 season, whilst Mannone was inconsistent when called upon to deputise for Szczesny earlier this season.

One positive for Arsenal is the return of Kieran Gibbs from injury, and he'll be able to slot straight into the side at the expense of the cup-tied Nacho Monreal.

The Gunners need to score at least 3 times against Bayern Munich to have hope of progressing.
