Danny Shittu's first half header sent Millwall into the semi-finals of the FA Cup, where they will face Wigan at Wembley.
Following a scrappy 0-0 draw at the weekend, the sides were forced to a replay this evening at Ewood park, which despite being a big match was only a third full.
The opening periods of the game passed without any incident, with the only real chance being David Dunn's curling effort following a short corner, which was wide of the post.
5 minutes before half time the match sprung into action. Taylor's corner was met by a towering header from Shittu, who raced off topless in celebration.
Referee Mark Clattenburg then became centre of attention after a number of questionable decisions.
Millwall should have had a penalty when Dany N'Guessan fired not one but two quick-fire shots into the arm of Blackburn defender Jason Lowe. Then, the loose ball fell to Taylor who attempted a curled shot which was poor and went out of player, with Clattenburg's decision to award a corner surprising everyone.
As Blackburn searched for an equaliser, it was veteran striker Best who had the 'best' opportunity. He wiggled is way past the opposition and into space, firing in a low shot which beat the keeper only to be cleared off the line by Lowry.
Millwall had one final chance to double their lead when Taylor was played through on goal, with Millwall hitting Blackburn on the counter attack. He wasted the chance by firing over the bar.
At the final whistle Blackburn booed, showing their discontent for manager Michael Appleton.
Meanwhile, Millwall celebrated their victory which sees them reach the final four for the first time since they reached the 2004 final.
