There were wins for Manchester United, Arsenal and a massive 3 points for Wigan on a busy afternoon of Premier League football.
The Red Devils have moved a whopping 15 points clear at the top of the table after a 2-0 win at Loftus Road, a result that leaves Queens Park Rangers 7 points from safety and rooted to the foot of the standings. A Rafael thunderbolt and a fine finish from Ryan Giggs was the difference between the sides.
A troubling week for Arsenal ended on a high as a late goal from Santi Cazorla secured a 2-1 win over Aston Villa at the Emirates. Cazorla had given The Gunners the lead early on in the first half, but despite constant pressure and missed oppotunities for Arsene Wenger's men it was Villa who scored next as a mistake from Wojciech Szczesny allowed Andreas Weimann to score. Good work from Nacho Monreal setup Cazorla for the winner 5 minutes from time.
Wigan made a massive step towards Premier League survival thanks to a 3-0 win at Reading. Brian McDermott's side had been in good form and Wigan were 6 games without a win, but a double from Arouna Kone and a cheeky finish from Maynor Figueroa gave Roberto Martinez a precious away victory that lifted his side out of the relegation zone and left Reading second from bottom.
There was a first win of 2013 for Norwich at Carrow Road as they dented Everton's Champions League hopes with a 2-1 win thanks to a late winner from Grant Holt. Leon Osman had given David Moyes' side a first half lead but January signing Kei Kamara levelled it for the home side before Holt's last gasp winner.
Romelu Lukaku scored twice as West Brom held off a late Sunderland rally to notch a 2-1 win at The Hawthorns. Stephane Sessegnon scored for the visitors but they couldn't force an equaliser.
The early kickoff had seen Fulham earn a precious 1-0 home win over Stoke thanks to Dimitar Berbatov. The result lifts Martin Jol's team to 11th and on the brink of a place in the top half.
